News About Live Audio Visual Contact

  27 Saturdays

Usually, fans who want unreleased or rare material need to wait until an artist croaks. Eventually his or her next-of-kin exploit their legacy by releasing some shoddy boxset.

Well, I said foo to all that and decided to take it upon myself to release a shoddy boxset of sorts while I'm still kicking. It's absolutely free too, so you can't whine about paying for some boombox demo or anything.

The catch is that one track will be released each Saturday for 27 weeks. That way, you, the listeners, can gradually digest each. In this internet age of instant gratification, I have goals of holding digital carrots in front of everyone.

Enjoy and all the best! - Steve

Harsh Dose of Reality (Live in Pittsburgh, 07-08-2009)

I need someone to tell me something
So I can know who I really am
Seems like things more or less these days
are the way things have always been
Whether you're a Biko or a martyr-man
are you doing everything that you can
The reason that I bring up that line
Is cos you still have the gift of time
It's just a Harsh dose of reality
It's not the waiting - It's the humanity
It's just a harsh dose of reality
I don't know why - on and on
I just wish I could tell the measure
Of how you define a man
Seems like things more or less these days
are decided by the one with the gun in his hand
Unaffected by the rising tides
You go back to sleep again

Home (Alternate Version)

You've got your self-destructive ways
as you stare at the snow in a haze
because what's wrong in this whole world
can't be solved by leaving it
And you'd better not get it wrong
the question of where it is you belong
Because we all know the truth
and the answer is inside of you
Now I think we've heard all the lies
and your attempts at a casual disguise
But what about the rest of the world
Do they know of your love for death
You've got your self-destructive ways
as you stare at the snow in a haze
You've got only one shot at this
so why am I the one reminding you
I wish you could see through my eyes
between the veil of all your lies
We all want you back again
but for now we just can't take it

It's time to
It's time to come home again
So you better bring him home

Now I suppose the truth is too hard
and the locks on the gates are too far
if you even could make it there
would the key be able to save you
All the lies and truths in the world
are alive and begin to unfurl
And Death's a nasty friend
but one we'll all meet in the end

It's time to
It's time to come home again
It's time to
It's time to come home again
You better bring him home

The Warlords (Demo)

Hey there, Missileface, with your back against the wall
Hey there, Triggerfinger, sitting on the floor
I've seen just how you make your people look small
I've seen your militaries crashing through their walls

Your trigger finger will leave none to linger
So kill them all
Your indecision will be your religion
So kill them all

You know I've watched you casting shadows on the tall
I wonder how you think you're never going to fall
Tearing nations down, leaving nothing left at all
Raping mother nature 'til you've rubbed her raw

Your trigger finger will leave none to linger
So kill them all
Your indecision will be your religion
So kill them all

Warlords

Your trigger finger will leave none to linger
So kill them all
Your indecision will be your religion
So kill them all

Hey there, Missileface, you never listened to a thing I said
Now your time has come and you're all going to be dead

Old Franconia (Part 1) (Alternate Version)

I remember making my way down Old Franconia
Thinking the best of my biggest mistakes
would be the one I had yet to make
But you were gone - yeah, you were gone
I can't recall the time or place
when I realized what I couldn't replace
But you were gone - yeah, you were gone
Digging the past up - it wouldn't fix a thing
but I did it regardless just for the memories

The Blocks Are Bad (Demo)
(Ward/Reinhold/Thompson)

Meow for the people
Oh, the bum goes walking from his humdrum home
Those blocks are bad
Meow for the people
Is this thing on? Is this thing on fire?
Down to the local delicatessen
Those blocks are bad
Time for a turkey sandwich which will remain in his belly for several hours
Those blocks are bad

Ishmael's Axe

Our lives march on
While theirs are gone
When we saw them
Our eyes felt it
I can't ask why
Life stumbled and they died
Who knows when how
This stops consuming us now

Where were you when the axe fell
Bringing up to earth a fiery hell
When were you when time froze
Why lord - only he knows
Where were you when the axe fell
33 dead and gone and on and on
It goes again and again

Early morning, barely dawn
Barely dew or sunshine on
Then the fear game began
Veiled in cowardice again
Why it happens I don't know
Every year in many homes
Everyday and every night
Why oh why do we even try
When I think of every life
Cut short by evil's knife
Disillusioned diplomat
With those teary eyes and warm regret
Those days they'll never have
Those laughs they'll never laugh
How I wish that I could've known
Cos I would've traded my life for their own

Where were you when the axe fell
Bringing up to earth a fiery hell
When were you when time froze
Why lord - only he knows
Where were you when the axe fell
33 dead and gone and on and on
It goes again and again

We've got the fire of a hope in our eyes
We've got our hands on a vision and peace is the prize

Light

If you're trying to avoid the light - why?
If you're trying to find the light - why?
You can find me in the light when I'm gone
Why would you try?

The End of Insight (Early Take)
(Thompson/Martinazzi)

Archaic is your god
With that herd mentality
Trample everything in sight
Your ability to destroy is underwhelming me
The end of insight is at hand
Great sadness washes over me
As I think of the wide and narrow
The prospect of our black tomorrow

Now all you've got are loss and fear
A primal scream that no one hears
I regret to inform you of the truth
There is no truth for you to see

It's the end of insight
And it's coming again and again
The choir shouts "amen" again
God rest all wary gentlemen tonight
And as the frost creeps its slender hands
Your eyes seek to find a fresh romance
Any idea you try to comprehend in the end
Will lead you to a place you cannot document

I've been to a hell you can only imagine
My mind's a place I just can't run from
So think before you breathe
And eat these words alive

Numbers (Folk Version)

People live their lives
based off numbers
Numbers they don't even know
the real meaning of
I've tossed the dice
Tossed them to the wind
I'm not sure though which numbers
came from such a foolish thing
You live your lives
without any hesitation
You seem to be unaware of
any kind of complications
People live their lives
based off numbers
Numbers they don't even know
the real meaning of
People live their lives
based off numbers

Decay (Alternate Version)

You keep crawling back to me
To an end you cannot see
You keep running down that dream
But it takes you no where

The illusion that we're not the same
persists itself, we're all to blame
but we're united by sweet decay
creeping up, everyday
Time plays tricks without spite
Unknowingly, you just take what comes
Totality in the stream of age
We fight for thrones then lose them anyway

You keep crawling back to me
To an end you cannot see
You keep running down that dream
But it takes you no where

Thoughts Assemble (Early Take)
(Thompson/Martinazzi)

I've never been up that hill while the sun still shines
I've never sought to try to when the moon is high

I've never seen your eyes shine outside of my mind
I've only felt the shade of the shadow you left behind

No one feels me
No one keeps me
